About Mt. Airy

Mt. Airy was originally a community of mostly dairy farms, settled in 1806. However, when farmers cut down trees to create more pasture, erosion started to threaten the scenic hillsides. So, starting in 1911, the City of Cincinnati began purchasing land and planting what is today known as Mt. Airy forest.

After World War II, with an increase in suburban living, Mt. Airy turned into a vibrant mix of residential areas and green spaces.

Mt. Airy has many houses built in both the 19th and 20th centuries. You can find rehabilitated country homes and farmhouses, but you can also find modern ranch houses, Colonials, and Tudors. Mt. Airy offers the style of suburban living within City limits.

With around 10,000 residents, Mt. Airy is a great representation of Cincinnati's population as a whole.
