Designate Mt. Airy Water Towers a Historic Structure!
Department of Community Development:
I am writing on behalf of the Mt. Airy Town Council, where I serve on the Board. Our community would like to designate the Mt. Airy Water Towers on the corner of Colerain and North Bend as a Historical Landmark.
As I’m sure you are aware, these historic towers are a Cincinnati icon, as well as a symbol of our community.
With this letter, therefore, I would formally like to request an evaluation be made of the structure, which is actually owned by the City of Cincinnati. Designation of this structure as “historic” would protect this valuable asset while also raising an interest in our beloved community. Subsequently, you may be interested to know that in 2011 Mt. Airy Forest will celebrate its centennial.
Please advise what next step must be taken to put this process in motion.
